“Important both historically and theologically. Readers will not be able to see the New Testament in the same way again.” —Marcus Borg, author of The Heart of Christianity   “ A New New Testament does what some of us never dreamed possible: it opens the treasure chest of early Christian writings, restoring a carefully select few of them to their rightful place in the broad conversation about who Jesus was, what he did and taught, and what all of that has to do with us now.” —Barbara Brown Taylor, author of Leaving Church and An Altar in the World   There are twenty-seven books in the traditional New Testament, but the earliest Christian communities were far more vibrant than that small number might lead you to think. In fact, many more scriptures were written and just as important as the New Testament in shaping early-Christian communities and beliefs. Over the past century, many of those texts that were lost have been found and translated, yet are still not known to much of the public; they are discussed mainly by scholars or within a context of the now outdated notion of gnostic gospels. In A New New Testament Hal Taussig is changing that. With the help of nineteen important spiritual leaders, he has added ten of the recently discovered texts to the traditional New Testament, leading many churches and spiritual seekers to use this new New Testament for their spiritual and intellectual growth.   “Remarkable . . . Not meant to replace the traditional New Testament, this fascinating work will be, Taussig hopes, the first of several new New Testaments.” — Booklist |

The Purpose of this little volume is three-fold. (1) To give those who are interested in the art of Crystal-Gazing a clear and concise method of procedure, not alone in the practice of the work, but also in the preparation of the crystal itself, so that it becomes a true material basis or link with other planes. (2) To show that the Ancient Methods of Working—if properly understood—are more scientific than modern ones, since they were designed to insure a definite type of vision and to put the Seer in touch with definite Intelligences of a Higher Order. (3) To point out that there are other Crystalline Spheres besides the crystal ball at first used to contact them; and that eventually the practice may lead to very high results, if the necessary steps are taken to insure success. With these objects in mind, the Author has done all in his power to make this book of real value to all who may obtain it. In the hands of the beginner it may lead to a wider conception of the Nature and Powers of his, or her, own being. Those who have already traveled some distance along the Occult Path may still find help through the study of the more advanced, if less understood, methods of the Ancient Seers. Those who are seeking to make their own Vision more Perfect, so that the Light of Truth may focus itself within them, will also find hints as to the means of accomplishing their True Purpose. Thus, it is hoped, all will be satisfied; and should their satisfaction be equal to that of the Author at this opportunity to herald the Light—however faintly—of the Ultimate Crystalline Sphere, Whose nature is Light Itself, he will be more than repaid for his efforts.—Frater Achad |

Over a century ago, there lived a Carmelite nun, Thérèse of Lisieux. Although she was young and seemed to have no authority, she taught “a Little Way very straight and short” which would lead people to perfection. Others had declared that sanctity was hard to attain, but she said that it was easy. Thérèse maintained that in order to become holy, it was not necessary to engage in manifold practices, to perform rigorous penances, or to receive extraordinary graces. What was needed was simply that we acknowledge our “nothingness” and approach God with love and confidence. “Sanctity,” she proclaimed, “is an interior disposition which makes us humble and little in God’s arms, conscious of our weakness and trusting even to audacity in the goodness of our Father.” Thérèse did not reveal new truths, nor did she teach new means for attaining perfection. Her doctrine was not a revelation of a new kind of sanctity, but a new way of revealing sanctity to us. What she teaches flows from the knowledge of God as He is revealed in the Gospel; she invites us to return to evangelical simplicity. The Church has endorsed her doctrine at the highest level: in 1999, Pope John Paul II declared her a Doctor of the Church. In the Complete Spiritual Doctrine of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, he presents her teachings in their original beauty, simplicity, and practicality. According to the judgment of the Carmelite nuns of Lisieux, this work “represents the pure doctrine of Thérèse—without deviation.” Since this book first appeared in French in 1958 and in English in 1961, it has established itself as a classic. Although many fine studies on St. Thérèse have appeared in more recent years, the Complete Spiritual Doctrine of St. Thérèse of Lisieux is still an indispensable guide to the Little Way. |

This book is aimed at witches who want to deepen their engagement with their Craft. It explores modes and types of ritual; how rituals work; the uses of sound and silence in ritual; the witch’s journey through life; the stages and pitfalls of the inner work. It shows how Queer Witchcraft is an inherent aspect of the archetype of the witch; how witchcraft relates to the land; witchcraft as resistance to oppression; working with ancestors; the witch’s pact with spiritual powers; the relationship between madness, shamanism, and witchcraft; and the concept of the night journey, another very old image from the history of witchcraft; how to use insights gained from the practice of witchcraft in everyday life; group dynamics; being a coven leader; teaching and learning in a coven; egregore, lineage, upline, and downline; power and authority; the process of challenging oppression; how to evaluate your Craft; the meaning and purpose of ‘spirituality’, religion, and magic; the archetype of the witch and what it means. |

In this inspirational book, preacher and educator Clarence Larkin explains the characteristics of Baptism which motivated him to join his denomination.   Larkin offers in this fine work an in-depth guide to baptism, from its origins in the Gospels, to its character, traditions and doctrine in the modern-day. The aim of baptizing, and its symbolism in Christian belief, are also explained with the use of the Biblical Gospels and other sources.  Never one to stray from the very core of his subject, Clarence Larkin keenly tells the reader about the origins of the very word 'Baptism'. The ceremonial procedures, from the view of the baptizer and the person to be baptized, are also discussed. Quotes of the Gospel are frequent, with Larkin striking the tone of clarity which was his custom.  The assumption that Baptists believe baptizement is essential to salvation is shown to be incorrect, with Larkin careful to cite the Gospels to support this assertion. The baptism itself is not a literal washing away of sins, but an affirmation of faith in Jesus Christ, his deeds and character, and the purpose of his death. It is up to the baptized person to adhere truthfully to this pledge, and thus attain their salvation.  It is here in this book that Larkin reaches out to the pedobaptists - Baptists whom believe in infant baptizement - with a tone of reconciliation. At the time of writing there was marked disagreement between the Baptists in general, and this subgroup, which Larkin sought to make amends. Furthermore, various other denominations are described, providing some insight into how Baptism was organized in the United States in the early 20th century. |

This superb and time-tested analysis and study by Clarence Larkin examines in detail, and explains with the truest clarity, the Biblical Book of Daniel.   Having spent his life in service of God as a minister, and much of his time deeply vested in contemplation and study of the Biblical canon, Clarence Larkin placed himself in a prime position to evaluate and explain some of the more complex passages of the scripture. Naturally blessed with a readable and flowing style of writing, Larkin enlightened countless thousands of Christians during his lengthy career.  In this book, we receive a passage-by-passage, line-by-line examination of the Book of Daniel. No detail or phrase is passed over, and the reader may be assured that Larkin pays the closest attention in explaining this important yet difficult to understand part of the Holy Bible. Larkin was moved to author this and several other books after receiving word from his flock and fellow believers of the difficulties they had reading and interpreting such texts.  The chapters are divided into the major episodes underpinning the Book of Daniel. Events such as the dream of Nebuchadnezzer and the calamitous Fall of Babylon receive close narration, while the famous image of Daniel in the Lion's Den benefits greatly from the clarifying commentary of Larkin.  This edition of Larkin's Book of Daniel includes all of the intricate charts and illustrations for which the author became famous. Several of these are very large and detailed images with large, small and tiny instances of text, and it is doubtless necessary to use a magnifying glass to fully scrutinise them. Vital to Larkin's explanations, they set out visually the principles that this book exists to clarify for the reader. |

At first glance, the Proverbs 31 woman seems to have it all under control. She is held up as a model woman who serves her Lord first, her husband and family second, and herself last. What can today's Christian women - married and single - learn from Proverbs 31, and how should they apply it to their own lives? This in-depth Bible study explores the entirety of Proverbs 31 and draws from Proverbs 8 to aid in understanding. Author Elizabeth Ahlman especially highlights the passage's connection to Christ and how this affects the everyday woman as she goes about her life. |

Vernon Johnson had no interest in or sympathy for Catholicism as an Anglican clergyman. During a chance visit to the Carmel of Lisieux, however, where St Thérèse had lived and died, he was overwhelmed by her story and witness, and began to consider the Catholic Church more favourably. He eventually became a Catholic, was ordained priest, and was one of the earliest and most eloquent advocates in English of the spirituality of St Thérèse, the “Little Flower”. He wrote several CTS pamphlets on her life & teaching; two of them have been continuously in print for eighty years. His synthesis of St Thérèse’s spirituality – the “little way” – is of enduring value. He saw beyond the superficial sentimentality of Thérèse’s style to the radical nature of her teaching of spiritual childhood: our need to admit to our heavenly Father, as a child does to its parent, that we need help, and our trust that he will not fail us. |

In this day of the revival of “Spiritism,” when no many, through the loss of loved ones in the “Great World War,” are longing to communicate with the dead, and are sorting to forbidden means to that end; a day in which science is trying to discover whether there is another world than this, and whether men live after death, and if so they can they communicate with the living, it seems timely that a book should be written to show what the Holy Scriptures have revealed of the “World of Spirits.” The Bible has much to say about the “Spirit World,” and if we will carefully search its pages we shall know all there is to be known in this life of the “World to Come.” For if men will not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded though one rose or came back from the dead. Luk 16:31. This book covers all phases of the “Spirit World.” It treats of the “Powers of Good and Evil,” of “The Under-world,” of “Satan,” the “Fallen Angels,” “Demonism,” the “Intermediate State,” and of Heaven and Hell, as well as the “Resurrection of the Body,” and the “Judgments” of the Righteous and Wicked. The prayer of the Author is that the Holy Spirit will use the book to free those who are entrapped in the net of “Spiritism,” and cause the curious and sorrowing to turn to the “Word of God” for help, and the answer to their questioning. This classic includes the following chapters: I. The Spirit World II. The Tri-Unity of God III. Satan IV. The Fallen Angels V. Demonism VI. The Underworld VII. The Spirits in Prison VIII. Natural Law in the Spirit World IX. The Relation of the Spirit World to the Natural World X. Man’s Relation to the Spirit-World XI. Soul Sleep XII. The Intermediate State XIII. Recognition and Relationship in the Spirit World XIV. The Final State XV. The Abolition of Death XVI. Spirit Transformation XVII. The Resurrection XVIII. The Resurrection Body XIX. The Judgments |

Foreword The Author started to prepare an “A,” “B,” “C,” book to introduce his larger Work on “DISPENSATIONAL TRUTH,” but after writing and condensing several times he felt led to abandon that idea and to prepare a book on “Rightly Dividing the Word,” in which the “Fundamental Doctrines” should be “Rightly Divided” in a series of contrasts. The “Fundamental Doctrines” of the Christian Faith are clearly outlined in numerous books on Theology, but they are not available to the average reader and were mainly written for students. The Author has made it the work of his ministry to preach the “Fundamental Doctrines.” To this end he has aimed to express them in the simplest and clearest manner possible. This book contains the cream and meat of his sermons for over thirty-five years, condensed and arranged in a form that will grip and interest the reader, because of the manner of their presentation. The book does not contain the opinions of the Author, nor quotations from other writers, but is based solely on the Scriptures, chapter and verse being given for every statement. The book is “Timely” in these days of Apostasy and denial of THE FAITH. The purpose of the book is to confirm in the Faith those who are wavering, and to instruct those who have not been clearly taught the great cardinal Doctrines of the Christian Faith. THE AUTHOR. “SUNNYSIDE,” Foxchase, Phila., Pa. December, 1920. This classic includes the following chapters: I. Rightly Dividing the Word II. Ages and Dispensations III. Jew and Gentile IV. The average person has 70,000 thoughts every day, and many of those thoughts trigger a corresponding emotion. No wonder so many of us often feel like we're controlled by our emotions. Our lives would be much improved if we controlled them . In LIVING BEYOND YOUR FEELINGS , Joyce Meyer examines the gamut of feelings that human beings experience. She discusses the way that the brain processes and stores memories and thoughts, and then - emotion by emotion - she explains how we can manage our reactions to those emotions. By doing that, she gives the reader a toolbox for managing the way we react to the onslaught of feelings that can wreak havoc on our lives. In this book, Meyer blends the wisdom of the Bible with the latest psychological research and discusses: the 4 personality types and their influence on one's outlook, the impact of stress on physical and emotional health, the power of memories, the influence of words on emotions, anger & resentment, sadness, loss & grief, fear, guilt & regret, the power of replacing reactions with pro-actions, and the benefits of happiness. |

It's obvious from the bookshelves and the big screen that heaven is on everyone's mind. All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. For decades, he has been studying accounts of people who have had near-death experiences (NDEs). While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors clearly point to the God of the Bible and the exhilarating picture of heaven he promises. Imagine Heaven is an inspirational journey through the Bible's picture of heaven, colored in with the real-life stories of heaven's wonders. Burke compares gripping stories of NDEs to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will it look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets? This book will propel readers into an experience that will forever change their view of the life to come and the way they live life today. It also tackles the tough questions of heavenly reward and hellish NDEs. Anyone interested in NDEs or longing to imagine heaven more clearly will enjoy this fascinating and hope-filled book. |

What did the writer of Genesis mean by “the first day”? Is it a literal week or a series of time periods? If I believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, am I denying the authority of Scripture? In response to the continuing controversy over the interpretation of the creation narrative in Genesis, John Lennox proposes a succinct method of reading and interpreting the first chapters of Genesis without discounting either science or Scripture. With examples from history, a brief but thorough exploration of the major interpretations, and a look into the particular significance of the creation of human beings, Lennox suggests that Christians can heed modern scientific knowledge while staying faithful to the biblical narrative. He moves beyond a simple response to the controversy, insisting that Genesis teaches us far more about the God of Jesus Christ and about God’s intention for creation than it does about the age of the earth. With this book, Lennox offers a careful yet accessible introduction to a scientifically-savvy, theologically-astute, and Scripturally faithful interpretation of Genesis. |
